Living Water International (LWI) is an inter-denominational Christian ministry committed to helping communities in the developing world acquire safe drinking water. LWI was founded in 1990 when several businessmen from Houston, Texas traveled to East Africa and became aware of the overwhelming need for safe drinking water. Today, LWI maintains ongoing operation in 25 countries, and has completed more than 4,200 water solutions which serve 6 million people every day.

LWI confronts the global water crisis with the most effective dollar-for-dollar model in the field. Their three-pronged approach ensures that the energy and resources contributed by volunteer and donors result in sustainable, participatory water systems that meet the long-term needs of the community.

Train
LWI currently encompasses well drilling, pump repair, hygiene education and the construction of bio-sand filters into their Integrated Water Solutions Training.

Consult
LWI's pool of engineers and geologists perform hydro-geological surveys; construction managers and contractors address building resources and needs; educators and health professionals help to implement sanitation, health and hygiene training at the community level.

Equip
LWI supplies capital outlay and logistical support while encouraging its partners toward independent, self-sustaining status.

With the proper maintenance these wells can bring a constant supply of water to Okokoma and its’ people for twenty to thirty years.

"I wish that each of you could see the joy expressed when villagers realize that the clean water spilling from a newly drilled well is for them! The first cup of water is always offered in Jesus' name. In this way, we meet both the physical and spiritual needs of God's children.Living Water
